Vehicle and Driver Recovered From Pineview Reservoir

In January 2024, divers with the Weber County Sheriff’s Office were called to Pineview Reservoir after a vehicle left the road and entered the water. The response followed a series of reports about an erratic driver traveling through northern Utah, including a report of a hit-and-run collision. The sequence ended at the reservoir, where the vehicle went into the water and submerged.

Crews searched for hours before locating the vehicle and recovering the driver, who did not survive.

Pineview Reservoir sits in the Ogden Valley just east of Ogden and is one of the busier lakes in the state for its size. In some sections, the surrounding roads run close to the water.
