Four Hours at Yuba State Park Reservoir

On the afternoon of Saturday, July 19, 2025, rescuers were called to Yuba State Park Reservoir in Juab County on a report of a missing person. The call came in at 4:30 p.m. The man had last been seen swimming at North Beach.

The search ran into the evening. At approximately 8:30 p.m., his body was located and recovered, according to a press release from the Utah Department of Natural Resources Division of Law Enforcement.

What the Division Said

The division described the loss as a "tragic and unfortunate circumstance" and extended its condolences to the man's family and friends. The press release did not give a cause, and the incident remains under investigation.

A Long Afternoon on the Water

Roughly four hours passed between the first report at 4:30 p.m. and the recovery at about 8:30 p.m. That was the window responders worked in, from the call to the end of the search, on a summer Saturday at the reservoir.
